Our History. Since 1996, Mid-South Metal Products has seen a number of transitions, including a name change and an expansion plan. Mid-South Metal Products is now VersaTube® Building System, which is also the name of the company's primary product line. The company now has two manufacturing facilities, one at our headquarters in Collierville, TN and the other in Tempe, Arizona.

"In the past year, our research and development team has created several new building system products, including framing packages for a horse barn and a storage shed. We felt that we needed another location to better serve our customers in the western U.S. Tempe turned out to be the perfect location for us," explained Tim Soder, president of VersaTube® Building System.

The company's new facility in Tempe Arizona has doubled its capacity for VersaTube® Building System.

In late 1997, the company introduced a system for framing structures that uses a patented technology for "swaging" rectangular and square steel tubing. This process is unique within the metal building industry and reduces assembly time and cost. Vice-President Bruce Ostrander said, "With our patented new building system, we are able to give our customers products that are easy to assemble and structurally sound. Our goal is to meet consumer need for storage and shelter buildings." VersaTube® Building System has also introduced other innovations to the industry, such as a new framing system for carports, easy-to-add height and length extension components and flexible garage door openings.
